This app is amazing and a great time saver! I use it for all my trips. However, it needs to be updated for the 7 train extension to 34st Hudson yards and the newest bus maps. Last week I was on the M4 bus going down 5th avenue and had to get off at 37th street when I wanted to get off at 34th street due to new turning restrictions revising the bus route.
I love this app- it streamlines changing lines and makes it super easy to be just a little bit more efficient in commuting. Worth every penny. I cant wait for an Apple Watch version to launch.
Ive used several different transit apps since I moved to NYC over 4 years ago and this is still the one I prefer the most. When Im taking a train I dont normally ride I love knowing which cars are closest to my next transfer.
Now that theyre updating the app again I can unequivocally state its the transit app I use most often and most value. It doesnt give directions but its otherwise invaluable for commuting and just being out and about around the 5 boroughs. Great value for the money.
Need better support. Show some pride in this awesome app. Add live time maybe?
Happy to see the new 7 line extension, this is my most trusted MTA app.
Update is nice and feels new
Years between updates, low res maps, no support for the iPhone 6 Plus... There are way better apps out there for your money.
This is one of the most unique and useful transit apps I have. NYC subway platforms are two blocks long. So when Im heading to an unfamiliar station, I will often whip this app open and find out whats the best place to stand to make a quick exit at my destination station. No other app that I know of has this feature. Also the neighborhood maps are very useful.
On the routes you go every day and already know, you dont need this. But if you are going to a new or unfamiliar location, this app is invaluable. Moreover, you can access this during those interminable waits on the platform as you scope out your best position.
This is a handy little app that really takes the guesswork out of the underground geography of the NY subway system. On your way to the subway, or even when youre already underground (i.e.the app is not signal- dependent), you can strategize: 1)what car on the train to board in order to make the most efficient transfer to the next line you plan to take, thus making your ride smoother and really easy to plan. You can also 2) open a geographically correct map of the local streets of your destination showing the exact placement of the exit staircases from your subway up to the street, so that you will be oriented perfectly when you come up to the surface again. Ive lived in NY all my life, and although I know an awful lot of stations pretty intimately, it still helps me manage the ins and outs of the stations with which I am not as familiar. For a tourist it would be a real help, and for us natives, its a pleasure!
Use it often and saves me a ton of time, very simple to use and wifi isnt needed which is key since I use it mostly underground. Would love an LIRR version of it!
